Day 1 Arrive Munich (2 Nights)

Willkommen in Munich - a city of sophistication, old-world charm and of course all the flavours of Bavaria, which you will have an opportunity to explore before embarking on your lyrical At Leisure sojourn through the Sound of Music. Day 2 Munich Orientation and At Leisure

Delve into the fascinating mix of old and new as you embark on a morning orientation tour taking you to some of the city's most renowned sites, including the majestic Opera House, Ludwigstrasse, Hofbräuhaus and Marienplatz - its magical Glockenspiel delights visitors throughout the day with its enactment of 16th century tales. Spend the rest of the day at leisure exploring the city's Old Town or consider an Optional Experience to the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site, the first of the Nazi camps established in Germany. This evening, embrace the city's rich beer heritage and consider a memorable night out at a local beer hall. Buffet Breakfast

Day 3 Munich – Neuschwanstein Castle – Oberammergau (2 Nights)

Journey to the fairy-tale Neuschwanstein Castle, built as a retreat for shy King Ludwig II to retire from public life. Meandering through Bavaria, we arrive in Oberammergau, where locals have performed the Passion Play every decade since 1634 to fulfil their vow after the village was spared from the grip of the Black Plague. Day 4 Innsbruck Excursion

The Tyrol mountains beckon today as you take a scenic drive to Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol. Against a magnificent Alpine backdrop, we spend a leisurely day exploring the city's iconic sights. Admire Emperor Maximilian I's ornate Golden Roof and the Wilten Basilica, take a trip up the funicular for spectacular views, or see the Hofburg Palace. We return to Oberammergau this evening to indulge in true Bavarian hospitality.Buffet Breakfast

Day 5 Oberammergau – Berchtesgaden – Salzburg (2 Nights)

The astounding beauty of Berchtesgaden provides an enchanting backdrop for a leisurely day spent in pristine natural surrounds. After a soulful day spent connecting with nature, we venture to Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart, where we'll spend the next two nights at an exquisite Schloss intimately connected to the beloved 'The Sound of Music' movie.Buffet Breakfast

Day 6 Salzburg Sightseeing and At Leisure

Tread in the footsteps of musical greats today and join your Local Specialist for a sightseeing tour including views of Getreidegasse, the Salzburg Cathedral, and several of the locations used in the film 'The Sound of Music'. The rest of the day is at leisure delving into the city's Mozart history or see the Domplatz dominated by the Salzburg Cathedral. This evening we join the Klaushofer family and their resident bees on their charming Salzburg farm for a Be My Guest family dinner, not to mention the delicious home-made cheese strudel.Buffet Breakfast, Be My Guest Dining

Day 7 Salzburg – Mondsee – Vienna (3 Nights)

Leave the sounds of Salzburg behind for lakeside Mondsee where you'll visit Mondsee Abbey, the one-time Benedictine monastery that served as the church where Captain Von Trapp and Maria got married in 'The Sound of Music'. Meander along the mountains and lakes of Salzkammergut and pass the centuries-old salt mines that brought great wealth to the area.Buffet Breakfast

Day 8 Vienna Sightseeing and At Leisure

We enjoy an in-depth and exclusive Cultural Insight this morning during a guided tour of the Kunsthistorisches Museum, delving into the fascinating heritage of the House of Habsburg, one of the most influential royal houses in Europe. Explore their exquisite collection of art in the spectacular Kunstkammer before the public gains access, then embark on a sightseeing tour of the city with a Local Specialist to admire its iconic landmarks and palaces. See the beautiful Opera House, Hofburg Palace, and the famous St. Stephen's Cathedral, with its colourful geometrically tiled roof, and amble through its quaint cobblestone lanes of 'Am Hof'. Spend the rest of the day at leisure indulging in the local Kaffee und Kuchen culture or consider an encounter with the city's rich musical heritage.Buffet Breakfast

Day 9 Vienna At Leisure

Soak up the elegance of the City of Music today with a full day to embrace the sights and sounds of a place that inspired the great talents of Mozart, Haydn and Strauss. Visit the beautiful Baroque Schönbrunn Palace, see the elegant Lipizzaner stallions at the Spanish Riding School or consider an Optional Experience to Bratislava, capital of Slovakia. Day 10 Depart Vienna
