Spring. A time of resurrection and rejuvenation. And if you are anything like me, the first bug you encounter on these deliciously bright and sunshiny days is the travel bug. Here are a few of the top places for spring travel.
New York & Washington DC
Many will tell you spring is the best time to be in the Big Apple. New productions open on Broadway, the Empire State Building gets colorful in honor of the New York Spring Spectacular, and you can catch free concerts every Thursday at Trinity Church. And a few hours away, the US capital, Washington DC, positively explodes with flowers in April. With over 3,000 cherry trees in bloom near the Jefferson Memorial and Tidal Basin, it is a floral display that simply can’t be missed. Cosmos can help you hit all of the major attractions on their New York, Niagara Falls & Washington DC tour, which also includes two nights in beautiful Niagara Falls and an overnight stay in Philadelphia.
Head further East and celebrate spring with a Hanami (cherry blossom viewing) picnic in one of the many parks, or better yet enjoy viewing them at Matsumoto Castle, one of the most beautiful and complete original Japanese castles. With Trafalgar’s Splendors of Japan tour you can also spend a day at Mt. Fuji, two nights in the beautiful hillside town of Takayama in the Japanese Alps and enjoy a special lunch at a traditional ryokan nestled in the peace and quiet of Mt. Yoshida in Kyoto, and more on this journey of discovery.
Paris & London
As the song says “I love Paris in the springtime”. View blooming flowers in the Square Louise Michel in Montmartre, the most famous Parisian artist area, dancing water features at the Gardens of Versaille, the Champs-Elysées and Arc de Triomphe in Paris. See the Big Ben and Piccadilly Circus and Buckingham Palace in London. Globus’ London & Paris tour will bring you to these must-see attractions and more.

Ahhh St Patrick’s Day. 24 hours to kick up your heels globally in observation of Ireland’s patron saint, history and culture in general. Feasting and drinking and kissing, oh my!
History (and Google) can tell us that March 17th has been a celebrated day well before it was officially made a Feast Day in the early 17th century paying homage to Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. What the modern day public generally adheres to though is a call to anyone, be they Irish or not, to wear green (or else suffer a pinch!), enjoy some parades, stuff yourself silly on corned beef and cabbage and have a bit o’ fun.
As luck would have it, Pavlus Travel can help get you to where it all began AND keep your pockets heavy enough to buy a round of pints at a local pub - like the famous Gravity Bar at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin where you can get a 360-degree view of the famed city and enjoy the king of all beers.
Or, spend an afternoon exploring St Patrick’s Rock of Cashel. It is one of the most visited archaeological sites in Ireland and consists of a breathtaking group of medieval buildings fixed on an outcrop of limestone that ascends 300 feet above the Golden Vale of Tipperary in Cashel.
You can also make your way along the Atlantic coastline to the 668-foot Cliffs of Moher where, if you are visiting during St Patrick’s day weekend, you can join in the festivities that typically include face-painting and local musicians and dancers and immerse yourself in Irish heritage and culture while being surrounded by astonishing views.
And no trip to Ireland would be complete without a chance to join in one of its most famous customs, kissing the Blarney Stone. Take a day to travel through County Cork to Blarney Castle then lay back, pucker up and get ready to be bestowed with the gift of eloquence. All the better to describe the fascinating people, exquisite sites and rich history of the Emerald Isle to your friends and family when you get home.
These are just a sampling of the countless wonders that await you. Be sure to join us this Thursday for a ONE DAY IRELAND SALE and discover where else you can explore on one of the many escorted tours Globus’ Family of Brands offers. Can’t wait? Call 800.528.9300 now and get itinerary details today!
