Day 1 - Welcome to Easter Island, Chile

On arrival, you’ll be warmly greeted and escorted to your chosen resort, the classic Taha Tai Hotel or the exceptional, all-inclusive Explora Rapa Nui.

After settling in, guests staying at the Taha Tai Hotel will embark on an afternoon sightseeing tour designed to introduce the island and its ancient culture, a distinctive blend of Polynesian and South American. This evening finds you at one of the island’s most captivating sites where five enormous moai stand silhouetted against the crimson sky. Enjoy a champagne toast as the sun dips below the horizon before returning to the Taha Tai where your evening is free to enjoy and dine on your own.

Guests staying at the Explora will be able to choose their included afternoon adventure from a variety of excursions offered by the Lodge - from guided walks and treks to cycling trips and sea expeditions. After sightseeing, return to the Explora where you can enjoy complimentary wine and cocktails before sitting down to dinner. This evening, the Lodge’s expert guides will present the explorations planned for tomorrow and will help you to select the best activity for your personal interests and spirit of adventure.  Meals D

Day 1 - Easter Island, Chile

On arrival, you’ll be escorted to the Hangaroa Eco Village & Spa. This afternoon, join our guide to tour the unusual archaeological site of Orongo. Set on the edge of a crater high above the sea, you’ll discover the ancient stone dwellings of what was once an important ceremonial village. This evening finds you at one of the islands most captivating sites where five moai stand silhouetted against the crimson sky. Its the perfect place for a champagne toast. Meals D

Day 2 - Exploring Easter Island

Explore Rapa Nui National Park #WHS# as our expert guide illuminates the history of the people who settled here 1,000 years ago and built the moai - the enormous stone figures scattered across the windswept vistas. Among the sites you’ll visit are the ancient quarry where the moai were carved, Ahu Tongariki with its 15 huge figures, and the historically important site of Ahu Akahanga where you’ll find 4 fallen moai. Meals B+L+D

Day 2 - Exploring Easter Island

After breakfast, guests at the Taha Tai Hotel will set out across this scenic island to explore amazing archaeological sites as our expert guide illuminates the history of Easter Island, its people, and the moai - the enormous stone figures scattered across its windswept vistas. Among the sites you’ll visit are the quarry where the ancient moai were carved and Ahu Akahanga, a large ceremonial platform with four fallen statues.

Our Explora Rapa Nui guests will enjoy their chosen excursion. These adventures are limited to 8 people along with an experienced Explora guide. Designed for a variety of interests and physical abilities, these land and sea tours are designed to enhance your understanding of Easter Island’s distinctive culture, its geography and the megalithic figures that are found across the island. Available activities will depend upon local conditions and may include the following:

Coastal Platform Walk: This easy 3-mile guided walk lasts about 2.5 hours and takes you through the fields and farmlands surrounding the lodge. Descending toward the coast, you’ll have views of various archaeological sites. Once at the coast, there are several Moai that can be observed. This guided tour also takes you to see Ahu Hanga Te Tenga, an enormous fallen moai.

The Moai Quarry: This easy to moderate 3.5-hour walk covers just less than 3 miles, but the trail can be rocky and uneven in some areas. Among the sites visited are Ahu Hanga Te Tenga, the trail that was once used to transport the enormous stone figures, and Rano Raraku – the crater where you can find various moai in different stages of their creation.

Fifteen Moai: Lasting about 4 hours, this easy to moderate guided walk covers more than 3.5 miles and takes you to Ahu Tongariki. Arguably one of the island’s most famous and impressive sites, here you will find 15 enormous moai standing together on a platform. You’ll also hike along the island’s northern coast for wonderful views of a fishing cove, local villagers, and various archaeological sites.

Seven Moai Bike Ride: This challenging, guided cycling adventure covers close to 19 miles in about 3 to 4 hours. Bicycling along a dirt road, you’ll travel through scenic agricultural areas of pineapple, taro and sweet potato cultivation. You’ll visit Ahu Akivi, a platform with seven standing moai, before continuing along the coast to Ahu Tahai, a spectacular site with three ahu and a total of seven stone megaliths. You’ll ride through Hanga Roa village before returning to Explora along a paved road.

Deep Sea Fishing: Previous deep sea fishing experience is recommended for this 3-hour adventure in a traditional fishing boat. Local islanders will be with you to teach you their ways of fishing in the open seas. Tuna and red snapper are among the typical catch.

Day 3 - Onward to Santiago

Fly to Santiago where you’ll be escorted to Le Reve, our lovely city-center boutique hotel. Meals B

Day 4 - Chile’s Wine Country

Journey into the famed Casablanca Valley for a tour of the Veramonte Winery. Sample fine organic wines including Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Primus – their proprietary blend of Carmenère and Cabernet Sauvignon. Learn how this award-winning vineyard is leading Chile’s organic wine industry and sit down to lunch here on the estate. Back in the city, the evening is yours to enjoy and dine where you wish. Day 4 - Discover Santiago

With our engaging native-born guide, your exploration begins in the heart of the city with its Colonial monuments like La Moneda Palace. Continue to Plaza de Armas to see the Cathedral and City Hall and then join city residents at the Mercado Central with its distinctive French architecture. Delight in guided walks through the city’s loveliest and most avant garde district and visit La Chascona, the former home of Pablo Neruda; hailed as South America’s greatest poet, Mr. Neruda won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1971. End your day atop San Cristobal Hill for spectacular views over the city. Meals B

Day 5 - Onward to Patagonia

Fly to Punta Arenas and embark on a scenic overland journey to the all-inclusive Patagonia Camp, set on Lake Toro facing the granite peaks of the Paine Massif. Your stay here includes a choice of expeditions. Depending on your interests and physical condition, you can choose from these full and half-day guided excursions that include gentle hikes, invigorating treks, kayaking, and fishing. Horseback riding, boating on Lago Grey and Zodiac expeditions to the Serrano Glacier can also be arranged. Meals B+D

Day 5 - Onward to Patagonia

Fly to Punta Arenas, where you’ll be met for an unforgettable overland journey to Patagonia Camp. South America’s finest luxury camp is set on Lake Toro, facing the granite peaks of the Paine Massif. Nestled in a beech forest, each of the 18 yurts features an en suite bath and private terrace overlooking the lake. Your stay at Patagonia Camp includes many uniquely planned expeditions, from easy to active. Each evening, the Camp’s experienced guides and naturalists will present the three included explorations that will be offered the next day - based upon weather and terrain conditions. Depending on your personal interests and physical condition, you can choose from these full and half-day guided excursions. They’re led by our Camp’s superb naturalists, so you’ll learn much about Patagonia’s geology, flora and fauna. At the end of each day, you might relax at the bar with a Pisco Sour or a glass of fine Chilean wine. Or you might just retreat to your private terrace to enjoy the breathtaking views over mountain and lake. Meals B+L+D

Day 8 - A final day in Patagonia

Arise once again to the breathtaking natural scenery that surrounds our Camp. Breathe in the pristine air and sit down to a hearty breakfast. Then embark on the naturalist guided expedition that you’ve chosen for your last day in Patagonia – perhaps an easy hike or a more challenging full-day trek deeper into these remote landscapes. End your day on a high-note, admiring the lake and mountain views from your private terrace. Then join your fellow Camp guests for another congenial dinner in the restaurant.  Meals B+L+D

Day 8 - A final day in Patagonia

Arise once again to the breathtaking natural scenery that surrounds our Camp. Breathe in the pristine air and sit down to a hearty breakfast. Then embark on the naturalist guided expedition that you’ve chosen for your last day in Patagonia – perhaps an easy hike or a more challenging full-day trek deeper into these remote landscapes. Day 9 - To Punta Arenas + Santiago

Return to Punta Arenas for your flight to Santiago. Transfer again to Le Reve. Meals B
