British Airlines adding more flights to UK

British Airways says its US booking are booming now that the UK Government  is no longer requiring quarantining for fully vaccinated people. The airline saw an immediate 95% increase in ticketing. So it is adding thousands of extra seats  on key routes from US and European cities.

Additional flights will allow US and EU citizens to connect to a range of UK destinations such as Newquay, Edinburgh, and Belfast.

US to Europe flight increases

Flights between New York-JFK and London Heathrow will increase to 21 services per week. Service between  Los Angeles and Chicago will increase to 10 per week  starting from 16 August 2021.  And, beginning August  23 flights between Seattle and London Heathrow will increase to 7 services per week. Eventually flights from Los Angeles will  increase to 14 per week. BA also plans to continue to broaden its schedule between the USA and UK throughout September.

BA also partners with American Airlines for connections between American’s key  U.S. hubs.  The two carriers operate more flights between the US and London than any other transatlantic partnership with services between 12 airports.

The English connection

In addition, passengers can connect to British Airways’ extensive UK domestic network. These include cities throughout the rest of the UK, and other European destinations.

British Airways has partnerships with a range of testing providers such as  mobile travel health app VeriFly.  Once a customer has had their travel documentation certified through the app they can check-in through either or the British Airways app and download their boarding pass before arriving at the airport.

British Airlines has a  flexible booking policy. Passengers can exchange their booking for a voucher or move their dates without a change fee. British Airways’ existing online Covid hub includes information on flexible bookings, testing, how to use a voucher and what the British Airways flying experience looks like for those that haven’t travelled for some time.

Sanitary protocols and more

British Airways is employing a number of  safety measures at the airport and on board.  These include social distancing,  face masks (which remain in place) and hand sanitizer stations. Prior to travel customers  receive details and information on discounted testing providers.

The air on all British Airways flights is fully recycled once every two to three minutes through HEPA filters. This helps remove microscopic bacteria and virus clusters with over 99.9% efficiency, equivalent to hospital operating theatre standards.
