The Diva doesn’t do coach. It’s an expensive habit, especially if flying to France. On many airlines a business class ticket costs close to $5,000 each way. But not on La Compagnie which offers bargain-priced luxurious business class seating from Newark to Paris or Nice.
Lie flat seats plus plenty of perks
We’re talking cushy lie-flat seats, fine Champagne, wine, food and free WiFi. And they even throw in Caudalie cosmetic kits.
Just to double check, we visited the web site and booked a roundtrip flight for June to Paris. One special fare blew me away. It came to about $700 each way. There were some higher fares available which are still far less than other carriers.
While not yet sampled, we’ve checked out a few reviews of the carrier and they were all positive. Some writers made it sound like a dream flight.
La Compagnie offers service from New York to Paris and Nice on its new, 74- lie-flat seat Airbus A321neo cabin. The French Rivieria flights w operate five times weekly, Wednesday through Sunday. A third daily flight between New York and Paris will be added to the schedule at peak periods with up to three daily flights during the months of June, September and October.
The Paris flight leaves Newark (EWR) at 11:30 p.m. and arrives in Paris (ORY) at 1:10 p.m. the next day. The return flight departs at 7:30 p.m. and arrives in Newark at 10 p.m. on the same-day. The airline launched seasonal flight between New York and Nice on May 5, 2019. That one drops you off smack in the Cote d’Azure.
“The Nice route marks a major milestone for the airline,” said Jean Charles Périno, EVP of Sales and Marketing for La Compagnie. “While we are excited to get this new route up and running, we are also looking forward to the delivery of our new Airbus A321neo which will allow us to enhance our services between New York and Paris, which operated at an average load factor above 80% in 2018.”
