Silversea ships in Antarctica

The Whisper meets the Cloud in Wilhelmina Bay

Ah, to have been a fly on the wall when Silversea’s Cloud and Whisper were side by side in Antarctica’s Wilhelmina Bay. Several lucky passengers saw the rendezvous on Feb. 4.  Not only was the meeting the ships unique but this also marks the first time a ship stopped in the Antarctic during a world cruise.

Silver Whisper was on its Legends of Cruising voyage that began on Jan. 6 before stopping in Antarctica for  four-days of exploration. Passengers got to go deep into the area on Zodiac tours and land excursions.

Starting in December 2021, Silversea is making it easier than ever to explore the White Continent with its revolutionary Antarctica Bridge—an ultra-luxury fly-cruise service that enables guests to fly over the Drake Passage in business-class comfort in approximately two hours each way.

 World Cruise 2021

Then on Jan. 30, 2021 the line will do its first Expedition World Cruise from Ushuaia, Argentina. The 167-day odyssey delves deeply in the Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetland Islands. Afterwards it goes on to the South Pacifi, Australia, Indonesia, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and ends in the Norwegian Arctic.

Silversea is a luxury cruise and expedition ship company offering top-cabin service, food and amenities. Fares include tips, wines, spirits and softdrinks, WiFi and more.  To get additional information or book a cruise simply contact a helpful Pavlus travel agent.
