Christmas in August on NCL Encore

Oh what fun it is to celebrate Christmas in August and recapture holidays lost on board a cruise ship.  That’s just what passengers are enjoying on an NCL  Encore cruise from Seattle to Alaska.  The cruise line put out a lavish Celebration Day buffet special occasion favorites. Dishes represent missed birthdays, Valentine’s Day,  anniversaries and other celebrations which didn’t happen because of the coronavirus. It even includes a New Year’s Eve theme.

The cruise from Seattle marks the first from a U.S. port in more than year. It’s also Encore’s bow.

A feast to catch up on lost times

Nearly 2,600 guests indulged in the feast. “I’ve never seen anything like this!,” one guest exclaimed. Another said, “It’s been really nice reliving all of the holidays that we missed … it’s nice to be back.” One woman, who was on board celebrating her husband’s birthday, said, “I love NCL so much and this is the reason … how much you care about us.”

During this week, Norwegian Encore will make her first calls to three iconic Alaskan ports (Icy Strait Point, Juneau and Ketchikan). She will continue to cruise from  Seattle to the Last Frontier through Oct. 16, 2021.
