Cruise line to substitute coastal voyages for UK residents
By Patti Pietschmann, Travel Diva
Princess is pausing cruise vacations in the UK that sail roundtrip from Southampton through Sept.25,2021. Beginning in late summer, Princess is launching short voyages on Regal and Sky Princess from Southampton. Those trips open for bookings at the end of this month. You should contact a Pavlus agent at 800-528-9300 if interested.
To compensate passengers who hold reservations on cancelled cruises, the company is offering an equivalent cruise in 2022. It explains that rebooking process will have the additional benefit of protecting the guests’ 2021 fare on their 2022 voyage.
Princess is also providing future cruise credits of 100% of the cruise fare paid. This includes an additional non-refundable bonus FCC equal to 10% of a paid fare (minimum $25). A full refund of the original form of payment is also an option.
If there isn’t an equivalent cruise option for 2022, the company is giving a refundable future cruise credit (FCC) equivalent to 100% of the cruise fare paid plus an additional non-refundable bonus FCC equal to 10% of the cruise fare paid (minimum $25). Alternatively, guests can request a full refund to the original form of payment.
How to get refunds or FCCs
To obtain full compensation you must fill out this online form by April 15, 2021 or guests will automatically receive the FCC option. FCCs are valid on any cruises bookings sailing by December 31, 2022.
Current information and instructions for passengers with these cancellations is available at Information on Impacted & Cancelled Cruises. Or by contacting a Pavlus agent.
Patience during a pandemic
The world of travel is in a state of flux during the coronavirus pandemic. Things, however, are looking up. More vaccines are being given and infections and deaths are dropping. We just need to be patient and follow the protocols to help control the spread. This means mask wearing, social distancing and proper hygiene.
