A DJ view
By Patti Pietschmann Travel Diva
The Scarlet Lady, Virgin Voyages first ship, launches on a high note in April with Virgin’s resident On Deck DJ program. The sounds of music will fill the air at sea and on land. Nothing unusual about that. Branson has his background in the music business as founder of Virgin Records.
“Music is a fundamental element of the Virgin Brand’s DNA and we know every world class beach club has an epic DJ line up,” said Chris Stubbs, Senior Director of Sailor Experience at Virgin Voyages.
“Our On Deck DJ schedule is going to ensure our stunning new beach club at Bimini will be as talked about as the infamous beach clubs of Ibiza, St. Tropez and Mykonos.”
Performances will take place at the Beach Club at Bimini (watch the Video). The 2020 lineup of world-famous DJs are set to perform as part of specialty sailings.
The Resident On Deck DJ program and 2020 Specialty Sailings feature Academy, Grammy and Golden Globe-winning artists.

Basking in Bimini
I’ve been to Bimini a few times and love it. What a lively little island and an ideal spot for Virgin’s beach club. The facility is just steps from the pier. It’s a good spot to detox from your mobile devices and enjoy Zen-like mornings with yoga and meditation by the sea. You won’t go hungry. There’s plenty of free foo to go around. And yummy stuff such as conch, mango salads, banana leaf wrapped queen snapper, Bahamian rum cake.
The vibes amp up as the day progresses with lots of action climaxing with DJ-led pool and flotilla parties. Evening Evening energy begins to wane by a beach bonfire accompanied by an acoustic musical performance.
Keep in mind Virgin Voyages is open to adults 21 and older only.
