Gallivanting the Galapagos on a most exciting expedition ship

Ahoy mates! It’s happening. Sales are opening on July 16 for Silversea’s Silver Origin— one of the most amazing ships ever built to explore the Galapagos Islands. And a Pavlus Travel specialist is ready to get you onboard.

The all-suite, 100-passenger Silver Origin makes her maiden voyage in July 2020 for a cruise experience of a life time.

Itineraries

The Origin replaces the retiring Silver Galapagos alternating two seven-night itineraries between Baltra and San Cristobal.

Her itineraries include:

Baltra to San Cristobal—this north central itinerary circumnavigates Isla Daphne Major with explorations of Darwin Bay and Prince Philip’s Steps,  Galapaguera Cerro Colorado and Punta Pitt in San Cristobal.

The seven-day itinerary allows time to absorb captivating marine life–from tropical fish and turtles to white tip reef sharks– and wildlife species in their natural habitats.

West bound

San Cristobal to Baltra—this western route sails to Cerro Dragon and Las Bachas Beach in Santa Cruz with a circumnavigation of Kicker Rock.

Other regions include Punta Vicente Roca, Tagus Cove and Elizabeth Bay in Isabela.

The Origin also goes to Post Office Bay, Champion Islet and Punta Cormorant in Floreana.

Additional regions of note are Los Gemelos, Charles Darwin Research Station and Puerto Ayora in Santa Cruz.

Both itineraries allow ample time to explore Darwin’s “Living Laboratory of Evolution,” which is rife with marine life. The high-points include viewing giant tortoises, marine iguanas, comical Blue-footed Boobies, energetic sea lion pups, Flightless Cormorants, Galapagos Hawks and Galapagos Penguins.

Local naturalists, one for every ten guests, guide the tour. A fleet of eight Zodiac crafts—the largest in the region on a per-guest basis—and kayaks enhance the adventure with on-water exploration.

Holiday happenings

Two holiday voyages take place In 2020. One departs December 19, 2020. It’s an 11-day 11-day voyage from San Cristobal to Baltra. The other happens on December 29 with a 12-day New Year’s cruise from Baltra that includes San Cristobal.

The glorious Galapagos

“The Galapagos Islands are one of the world’s greatest pristine wonderlands,” said Fernando Delgado, Silversea’s Vice President and General Manager of Canodros C.L.

“It will be our honor to unlock the authentic beauty of this region for guests, as they journey aboard the environmentally conscious Silver Origin, enjoying the ship’s understated elegance and all-inclusive comforts and luxuries.”

Origin’s stylized decor

The high-designed Origin reflects Silversea’s signature style. There’s a butler for every suite, a private veranda or Horizon Balcony and inclusive amenities.

Super suites

There are eight suite categories. And for the high roller, an Owner’s suite that wraps around the ship’s rear section on Deck 6.
A Grand Suite and one Royal Suite connect for family or friends convenience. Two Silver Suites—located forward on Deck 5—can be connected to an adjacent Classic Veranda Suite to accommodate groups.

All of these top-tier suites feature a large veranda with comfortable outdoor furniture and floor-to-ceiling glass doors. A first for Silversea, the Owner’s, Grand, and Royal suites offer an ocean-view whirlpool bath and separate shower, accessible from the veranda (except in the Grand Suite). The Silver Suites’ whirlpool bath and separate shower provide exterior views and can be accessed from the veranda.

The remaining four suite categories include one Medallion Suite, seven Deluxe Veranda Suites, and sixteen Superior Veranda Suites located on Deck 6. These accommodations are most notable for their innovative Horizon Balcony, which converts into an indoor living space with a floor-to-ceiling window.

Down on Deck 5 twenty-two Classic Veranda Suites provide floor-to-ceiling sliding doors that open onto the veranda.

All suites boast a minibar stocked with local snacks and hard and soft drinks. Large flat-screen TVs, a pillow menu, plush robes, slippers, free WiFi and exploring gear complete the offerings.
