About the Port
Bahia Gardner sits on Española, the southernmost island in the Galápagos archipelago, prized for its powdery white-sand beach and remarkably approachable wildlife. Sea lions doze along the shoreline while marine iguanas and colorful Sally Lightfoot crabs work the volcanic rocks nearby. Offshore waters are calm and clear, making the bay a favored spot for snorkeling among reef fish and the occasional ray.
The island's isolation has made it a stronghold for seabirds rarely seen elsewhere, including waved albatross, Nazca boobies, and swallow-tailed gulls, best observed on visits between April and December. Access is by small panga landing craft rather than a pier, so arrivals step directly onto the beach.
