About the Port
Scattered across the Gulf of Panama on the country's Pacific side, the Pearl Islands form an archipelago of roughly 200 islands and islets, most of them small and uninhabited. The name recalls a once-thriving pearl trade, though the gems themselves are no longer harvested here. What remains is a quiet, undeveloped beauty: soft beaches, clear water, and coral reefs supporting a wide range of tropical fish and marine life.
Because many of the islands lack deep-water piers, arrival is typically by tender, with small boats ferrying travelers ashore to the sand.
