About the Port
Prickly Pear Cays lie a few miles north of Anguilla, two small uninhabited islets rimmed by pale sand and clear, shallow water. Formed of coral and limestone like the main island, the cays are fringed by reefs that draw snorkelers and divers to a marine landscape largely undisturbed by development. Frigate birds and other seabirds are frequent visitors, and the surrounding waters shift from pale turquoise to deep viridian depending on depth and light.
With no permanent pier, the cays are reached by tender or small boat, and visits typically focus on swimming, snorkeling, and simply enjoying the scenery rather than built attractions. The setting offers a natural counterpoint to Anguilla's low-key villages and Marigot's harbor town, rewarding those who venture out with an unspoiled corner of the northern Caribbean.
