Destination & Sightseeing

ITINERARY

Day 1 - Arrive Nairobi, Kenya
Arrive in Nairobi, and then transfer to your luxurious accommodations in one of Kenya’s most famous hotels.

Day 2 - Amboseli National Park
Drive from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park and your tented safari camp beneath Mount Kilimanjaro. The elephant population is prolific here. Amid acacia woodland, scrub brush, freshwater swamps and open plains, watch for buffalo, hippos and waterfowl.

Day 3 - Amboseli National Park
Embark on exciting morning and afternoon game drives, keeping watch for lions and cheetahs as they prepare to hunt. Then, from atop the perch of prehistoric Observation Hill, witness the grasslands and mighty mountain shift colors at sunset.

Day 5 - Private Wildlife Conservancy
Board a flight to the Laikipia Plateau and continue to your private wildlife conservancy. On arrival, drive to your exclusive A&K tented camp and settle in, before taking to the bush for an afternoon game drive. The next day, enjoy a morning game drive highlighted by an up-close visit with the world’s last northern white rhinos in their heavily guarded enclosure. This afternoon, relax in camp or choose from optional activities (each at an additional cost) such as a visit with the conservancy’s anti-poaching dog unit or a night game drive.

Day 6 - Masai Mara Game Reserve
Fly to the Masai Mara Game Reserve and your award-winning luxury lodge. Relax each night in large, spacious suites — complete with generous tubs, as well as a private veranda and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that fold open to reveal magnificent views of the Mara River. Set out on a late-afternoon game drive, and return to camp for dinner.

Day 8 - Masai Mara Game Reserve
For the next two days, explore the vast plains. The Masai Mara, situated along the Tanzanian border, is on the route of the annual wildebeest migration, one of the reasons it is also home to the country’s largest lion population. Immerse yourself in the lives of locals when you visit the students and teachers of a local school (when in session) where literacy rates have been improved by an e-reader program that increased access to books — a project supported by A&K Philanthropy. While at Olonana, enjoy a Chef’s Table experience, featuring a cooking demonstration and tasting of local dishes. Later, celebrate a sunset on the Mara with a Scenic Sundowner. On your final evening here, enjoy a farewell dinner.

Day 9 - Depart Nairobi
Fly to Nairobi, where a dayroom awaits until your flight.
