Day 1 - Arrive Johannesburg, South Africa
Arrive in Johannesburg — a vibrant city that has changed from a roistering mining camp into a metropolis within living memory — where you are met and transferred to your hotel, nestled just outside of Johannesburg in a lush, park-like setting. Enjoy the balance of your day at leisure.
Day 2 - Okavango Delta, Botswana
After breakfast, fly to Maun, Botswana. Upon arrival, board a light aircraft to your vast private concession in the Okavango Delta, the largest inland delta in the world, which you drive through on the way to your safari camp. After lunch in camp and some time to relax, head out on an exciting afternoon game drive on this wildlife-rich private reserve.
Day 3 - Okavango Delta
This morning, continue with your choice of activities. Set off on a thrilling, guided game drive in a customized, open-sided 4x4 vehicle or a bush walk that lets you explore on foot and in the company of an armed, expert guide. Your private concession sprawls across an unspoiled landscape; be on the lookout for giraffes, hippos, lions, leopards and cheetahs. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure, free to choose from an array of game-viewing activities, such as a nighttime game-viewing drive.
Day 4 - Chobe National Park
After breakfast, fly to Chobe National Park and settle into your lodge. Set out on an afternoon game drive that includes elephants — a staggering 120,000 live in the park — along with impalas, buffalo and possibly lions. Return to camp to relax in the comforts of your luxury accommodations and enjoy a freshly prepared meal. Later, drift to sleep, serenaded by the sounds of Africa beneath a blanket of stars.
Day 5 - Chobe National Park
Set out on a game drive at sunrise to catch the animals at the start of their day, when they are most active. You may even glimpse a leopard returning from the hunt. Later, embark on a Chobe River safari cruise and watch for crocodiles and hippos in the water as well as elephants that come down to the river’s banks to drink and play in the shallows. The park’s beautiful wetlands also lure a wealth of birdlife to the region and you may glimpse any of the 460 species that either live here or migrate through, including raptors, vultures and waterfowl. Back in camp, relax in your luxury accommodations and sit down to a gourmet dinner this evening.
Day 6 - Livingstone, Zambia
This morning, journey overland to magnificent Victoria Falls. Cross into Zimbabwe to behold the incredible cataracts, which extend more than a mile across and plummet 354 feet to cast up the mist that inspired their original name, Mosi-oa-Tunya (“The Smoke That Thunders”). Continue to the Zambian side of the falls and settle into your camp for the next two nights. At twilight, take a sundowner cruise, sipping cocktails, gazing out across a verdant vista and gliding past pods of hippos.
Day 7 - Livingstone
Begin the day with a guided walking tour of Victoria Falls from the Zambian side. Get a closer view of the mighty Zambezi River as it cascades over the edge of an impressive 1.2-mile-wide basalt lip. Enjoy this afternoon at leisure or take advantage of the activities on offer. Explore the game-rich Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park with a professional guide or visit Nakatindi Village and provide support for the community’s school and clinic, two projects assisted by A&K Philanthropy.
Day 8 - Depart Johannesburg
