ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive in Bayeux, France
Arrive in Bayeux, where you are met and taken to your hotel.

Day 2: D-Day Revisited
Today, you explore the famous D-Day landing areas. Begin inland at the Sainte-Mère-Église, a strategically important village that was liberated by the US 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. Then, visit the famous coastline at Pointe du Hoc, which was scaled by U.S. Rangers in a triumph of planning and execution. Next, examine key sites on Omaha Beach, from both the German and U.S. perspective, and learn about Operation Aquatint, a failed 1942 British Commando raid. Finish at the U.S. Military Cemetery and Interpretation Centre at Colleville-sur-Mer, final resting place of over 9,300 U.S. soldiers.

Day 3: The Iconic Island Abbey
Explore magnificent Mont Saint-Michel, a village perched on a rocky tidal island crowned by an abbey that took more than 500 years to build. Legend has it that Archangel Michael inspired its construction. Explore the steep, narrow, cobblestone streets and climb over 350 steps to reach the abbey or roam the charming village of historic houses and little shops. If time allows, you may visit another town in the area, such as St-Lô, Bayeux, Avranches or Villedieu-Les-Poêles, before returning to your hotel.
