Tour historic Reims and ?pernay with a private visit to the M?et et Chandon cellars. Visit Colmar, city of canals and half-timbered houses, before exploring Strasbourg, capital of Alsace with a medieval core known as "Petite France." In Paris, focus on famous French artists at the Louvre and Mus?e Marmottan.
Board the train to Strasbourg and transfer to your
hotel, Ch?teau d'Isenbourg, for two nights. Visit Colmar, the
home of Bartholdi, the creator of the Statue of Liberty. Colmar
is affectionately known as "La Petite Venise" because of its many
canals lined with half-timbered houses. You have time to explore
Strasbourg on your own in addition to a morning of organized
sightseeing that shows you the Gothic Notre Dame Cathedral and
the neoclassical Rohan Palace.
Days 4-5
After a morning tour, return to Strasbourg's railway
station for your first class journey to Paris and the legendary hotel
Le Meurice. Sightseeing focuses on the Impressionist painters.
At Mus?e Marmottan, view 60 paintings owned or painted by
Claude Monet, including works by his friends Renoir, Sisley and
Pissarro. Then wander through the Mus?e de l'Orangerie, housing
Monet's Water Lilies paintings. Later, join Art Gallery Club Director
Olivier Dyan and contemporary figurative French artists, for a
visit and some champagne. The next day, go on an exclusive visit
to the original engine room of the Eiffel Tower. Then explore the
unsurpassed Louvre Museum. On your final day, join a restaurant
critic and food critic for a tour and visit with a baker or chocolatier.
Days 6-9
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
