About the Port
Coats Island rises from Hudson Bay as a low, windswept expanse of tundra and pale cliffs, one of the more remote and rarely visited landforms in the Canadian Arctic. There is no port infrastructure here; the island is experienced from offshore, its shoreline and shifting sea ice observed as light and weather transform the scene throughout the day.
