Arrive in Basel, where you are met and transferred to your hotel. After time at leisure, join your Resident Tour Director and small Connections group for a private tour at Tinguely Museum, followed by a welcome reception and dinner.

Day 2: WEIL AM RHEIN, GERMANY / Amazing Architecture

Travel by intimate group to Weil am Rhein, where you take a private architectural tour of the Vitra Campus, an ensemble of remarkable buildings by renowned architects. Then, explore the Design Museum, created by Frank Gehry. Wander through the Kunstmuseum at leisure after a brief, guided introduction. Later, transfer to your modern river ship for priority embarkation. After settling into your premium cabin or suite with an open-air French or walk-out balcony, relax with fellow guests over a welcome cocktail before dinner.

Day 3: STRASBOURG, FRANCE / Alsatian Wine Tasting

Set out on a small group excursion that includes a visit to Strasbourg’s Gothic cathedral with its beautiful stained glass windows. Get an authentic taste of French cuisine at a local restaurant, an experience exclusive to Connections guests. Then, visit Riquewihr and Kaysersberg along the Alsatian wine route, pausing with your small group to taste local vintages.

Day 4: SPEYER & MANNHEIM, GERMANY / Artist Colony

Embark on a Connections-exclusive excursion that begins in Speyer. Walk alongside your Resident Tour Director to the city’s imposing cathedral, an 11th-century UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue on a scenic drive through Heidelberg to Darmstadt, and take a guided visit of the longtime artists’ colony of Mathildenhöhe. After a specially planned lunch at a local restaurant in Darmstadt, stop for photos at the 1,200-year-old gatehouse of the Abbey of Lorsch.

Day 5: RÜDESHEIM, ASSMANNSHAUSEN & KOBLENZ / Assmannshausen Excursion & Rhine Gorge Cruise

Join your small group of travellers for a Connections-exclusive excursion as you ride the local train from Rüdesheim to Assmannshausen. Take the chairlift up the hill for panoramic, open-air views of the wooded hillsides and a taste of local red wine. Return to your ship for lunch and an afternoon cruise through the scenic Rhine Gorge. Then, set out on a walking tour of Koblenz, passing St. Castor's Basilica and the Electoral Palace. Join your Resident Tour Director ashore for a Connections dinner in a typical local restaurant.

Day 6: COCHEM / Picturesque Medieval Streets

Gather with fellow Connections guests for a visit to Cochem, a city settled in Roman times along the Moselle River. Enjoy a wine tasting, arranged specially by A&K for your small group, followed by a Connections-exclusive guided tour of Cochem Castle. Tonight, attend a private cocktail party and an exclusive Chef's Highlights dinner.

Day 7: COLOGNE / City Excursion

Enjoy a tour of Cologne today, visiting its stunning cathedral in your small group, alongside your knowledgeable Connections guide. Designed with mathematically precise craftsmanship, it boasts gargoyles and corbel figures on its façade, with medieval sculptures and 19th-century mosaic flooring in its interior. Continue to the Museum Ludwig to view the collection of classical, modern, expressionist and American pop art works, a Connections-exclusive excursion. Then, enjoy free time for shopping and lunch on your own (or included aboard ship). This evening, join your captain for a gala dinner.

Day 8: VOLENDAM, HOLLAND / Tulip Farm

Arrive in Holland and visit the old fishing village of Volendam, with its colorful period houses. Continue by small group to a local cheesemaker, where you enjoy an intimate tasting. Then, transfer to a nearby family-run tulip farm for exclusive insight into this uniquely Dutch industry. In Amsterdam, drive past vibrant Dam Square and the Museum Quarter before re-boarding your vessel for a final overnight stay.

Day 9: AMSTERDAM / Canal District Architecture Walk

Disembark for a private guided tour of the Kröller-Müller Museum and sculpture garden, home to the second-largest Van Gogh collection in the world, as well as works by Seurat and Picasso. After a local lunch with fellow Connections guests, return to Amsterdam for an architectural boat tour in the canal district, alongside your Resident Tour Director. See the picturesque canal houses, tiny alleyways, gardens and drawbridges that lend this cosmopolitan city its unique and lasting charm.

Day 10: AMSTERDAM / Rembrandt & Restorations

This morning, pay a Connections-exclusive visit to the famous Rijksmuseum. During your guided tour, view thoughtfully selected masterpieces from its exceptional collection, including Rembrandt’s Night Watch. Relax at leisure this afternoon, further exploring the museum or perhaps shopping for tulip bulbs. This evening, visit the Douwes family gallery, seven generations in the same family, for a reception and talk on art restoration. Later, gather for a farewell dinner to celebrate your journey.


Today, transfer to Amsterdam airport for your flight.
