Arrive in London, where you are met and escorted to your city-center boutique hotel. Tonight, meet your Resident Tour Director and fellow guests for a welcome dinner.

Day 2: LONDON / Great Britain’s Riverside Metropolis

This morning, enjoy a panoramic tour of London. Discover Buckingham Palace, where the Queen has been known to deliver her signature wave; the Houses of Parliament with its beaming clock tower, Big Ben; the great Trafalgar Square; iconic Tower Bridge over the River Thames; and lively Piccadilly Circus in the city’s West End. You also take a guided tour at the sprawling, storied British Museum. The remainder of the day is yours to spend at leisure.

Days 3-4: DEVON & CORNWALL / Seeing Stonehenge

Drive to Stonehenge, an ever-mysterious prehistoric monument. In Salisbury, visit its beautiful cathedral, topped by the tallest spire in the United Kingdom. After lunch at leisure, continue to your grand hotel in the Devonshire countryside, inside Dartmoor National Park. The following morning, visit Morwhellam Working Village in the Tamar Valley, to see blacksmiths plying their trade and learn about the history of Cornish mining, for an Artisan Connection. Drive through the picturesque countryside of Cornwall, stopping for traditional Sunday lunch in a pub. This afternoon visit Plymouth and the Mayflower Steps.

Days 5-6: BATH / A Journey Back to Roman Times

Drive north to Bath this morning, stopping en route at Glastonbury Abbey, said to be the final resting place of King Arthur. Take time to appreciate the beautiful Georgian architecture and tour the Roman Baths museum, where well-preserved ruins and interpretive guides reveal what life was like in Roman times. The next day, set out for the charming Cotswolds, where you are invited to tour Badminton House, the private country estate of the Duke and Duchess of Beaufort. Sit down to lunch at a village pub before continuing to the medieval town of Lacock. Explore the well-preserved town, which belongs to the National Trust and serves as the site of many film and television productions. Return to Bath for an evening at leisure.

Days 7-8: COVENTRY / Shakespeare’s Birthplace

Cross the Severn River this morning as you enter Wales. Drive along the beautiful Wye River valley, pausing en route at the ruins of Tintern Abbey, which inspired countless artists and poets across generations. Continue to the small Borders town of Ludlow, a center of the Welsh food “renaissance.” Discover its charming streets and fine food before continuing to your historic country hotel — a former abbey surrounded by a moat, near Coventry. The next day, head to central Coventry, where you see the cathedral, destroyed in World War II and later reborn. Then, journey to nearby Stratford-upon-Avon, the home of William Shakespeare. Tour Shakespeare’s birthplace before strolling the streets of the town and enjoying lunch. Continue to Anne Hathaway’s Cottage before returning to your hotel.

Day 9: WINDSOR / The Queen’s Castle

Bid farewell to Coventry as you head south, stopping in Oxford for a guided walking tour, before arriving in Windsor. Tour its castle, the largest occupied castle in the world, and an official residence of Her Majesty the Queen. After exploring the town, check in to your hotel opposite the castle gates. Tonight, enjoy a special farewell dinner with the new friends you have made.

Transfer to the airport and board your flight.
