Day 4. Akagera National Park Rise early for another day of wildlife viewing. Akagera is home to a thriving lion population, which you can help track through the Lion Tracking Conservation Project, as well as black rhinos reintroduced in 2017. Day 8. Volcanoes National Park Today trek to witness the endangered golden monkeys. Continue your journey with a visit to the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund and learn about the ongoing efforts to protect gorillas and their habitats. Day 9. Volcanoes National Park Don your gaiters and gear as you hike into the mountains for a second exhilarating gorilla trek.
