About this property
Amankila (peaceful hills) is located near the village of Manggis in East Bali's Karangasem Regency, overlooked by sacred Mount Agung. From its verdant setting above the Lombok Strait, the resort enjoy sea and coastal views of the historic region. Amankila's three-tier pool is set into the cliff edge, offering spectacular panoramic views of Amuk Bay and Nusa Penida. The aqua-tiled pools flow one into the other, stepping down liked terraced rice fields. Amankila's 34 free-standing suite, all with alang alang roof thatching, are designed as beach houses with a twist. They subtly reflect their East Bali surrounding with particular reference to Ujung, the Royal Water Palace just outside Amlapura, the district capital. Surrounded by frangipani trees and offering magnificent ocean view, the suite are situated on the hill side and connected to the resort 's entrance suite and restaurant areas by stepped walkways. Each suite features a large bedroom with wide window views, canopied king-size bed ad writing desk.
