Grand Hotel Minerva

Italian family-owned Grand Hotel Minerva, completed a multi-million dollar renovation of all 97 rooms and suites, as well as public areas. Located in the heart of the city’s center in Piazza Santa Maria Novella, the hotel is just a 5 to 10-minute walk from Florence’s main attractions including the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Uffizi museum, Ponte Vecchio and the luxury shopping street of Via Tornabuoni. The sixth floor features a rooftop heated pool and bar (seasonal) with a breath-taking view of the city. All rooms and suites are spacious and offer an elegant, contemporary décor and magnificent views of Florence. Family Rooms and Suites are also available. La Buona Novella Bistrot extends its doors “al fresco” for romantic candle lit dinners in one of the most beautiful squares. A fitness center is available to the guests. Architect Piera Benelli designed the common spaces and rooms attentive to every single detail and even designing all its furniture and many accessories. She kept true to the legacy of great architects and artists, like Carlo Scarpa, Edoardo Detti, and Emilio Greco who had been part of making our historic hotel an icon of contemporary architecture in the past. She made deft use of spaces, materials, and colors for the new rooms, to make them warm, inviting, comfortable and relaxing. All the rooms have wooden floors, soft colors on walls holding works by contemporary artists.
