The striking Grade II listed building became a flagship Sofitel in 2002 under the direction of world-renowned designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, who transformed the former bank into a sophisticated destination. More recently, Rochon was invited back to redesign the hotel’s multi-million-pound renovation in 2019, adding new layers of comfort and luxury. The property’s overhaul included a vibrant new design across its rooms, Rose Lounge, St James Bar, plus the addition of Michelin-starred restaurant Wild Honey St James.
In 2024, Chef Anthony Demetre unveiled a brand-new concept called Bistrot at Wild Honey, creating a relaxed neighborhood wine bar and dining offering centered around bistronomy.
