CASTELLO BANFI Hotel Il Borgo is situated on the southern slopes of the Brunello di Montalcino production area. The estate is 16 kilometers from Montalcino, 50 kilometers south of Siena and 130 kilometers south of Florence. The luxurious rooms and suites of “Il Borgo di Castello Banfi” are carved out of the stone houses, built in the 17th and 18th century adjacent to the walls and towers of the medieval fortress, historically known as Poggio alle Mura, when it became safe to live outside the walls, but it was wise to remain close for protection.
