About the Port
Aguila and Condor Glaciers descend from the Darwin Mountain Range, named for Charles Darwin, within Alberto de Agostini National Park, the third-largest protected area in Chile. Set along Agostini Sound at the tip of South America, the park spans fjords, ice fields, and subpolar forest beneath snow-capped peaks. Aguila Glacier, sometimes called Dainelli, is notable for its low, rolling profile, appearing to flow over hills rather than steep mountainsides, while nearby Condor Glacier adds scale to the icy amphitheater.
There is no town or pier here, only wilderness reached by small excursion craft launched from an anchored vessel. Conditions permitting, Zodiacs approach the blue-tinged ice for a close view of the glacier faces and surrounding forest. The setting remains remote and undeveloped, prized for its silence, scale, and the raw geography of Patagonia's southern fjords.

How our planners would spend a day in Aguila & Condor Glacier.
Zodiac Cruise to the Ice Face
Small boats launch from the anchored ship for a close approach to Aguila Glacier's blue-tinged wall, weather permitting. Bundle up and keep camera lenses ready, as ice conditions can shift the route with little notice.
Spot Aguila's Rolling Ice Profile
Unlike typical steep glaciers, Aguila (Dainelli) spreads low over rolling hills at the head of a quiet lagoon, a distinctive shape worth studying from the water. Scan the surrounding subpolar forest for signs of Andean condors and other seabirds.
Take in the Twin-Glacier Amphitheater
From the Zodiac, compare Aguila's gentle slope against Condor Glacier's larger, steeper backdrop for a sense of scale within the Darwin Range's icy bowl. Few places convey Patagonia's raw, undeveloped geography as directly as this fjord.
