About the Port
Ko Yao Noi sits between Phuket and Krabi in the middle of Phang Nga Bay, its shoreline framed by the dramatic limestone karsts the region is known for. Largely rural and low-key, the island is home to Muslim fishing villages, rubber and coconut plantations, and mangrove-lined coves that make it a rewarding contrast to Thailand's more developed coastal resorts. Its position within the bay gives arriving travelers open water views of the surrounding rock formations well before landing.
Because no large-ship pier serves the island, access is limited to smaller vessels, keeping the pace unhurried and the landscape largely undisturbed. Time ashore is best spent exploring inland villages on foot or by bike, watching longtail boats at work, and taking in the karst scenery that defines this stretch of Phang Nga Bay from a quieter, more local vantage point than nearby Phuket or Krabi.

How our planners would spend a day in Ko Yao Noi.
Longtail Boat Karst Tour
Hire a longtail boat for an hour or two to weave among Phang Nga Bay's limestone islets, with stops at hidden lagoons and small beaches. Arrange through a village dock guide soon after landing, as boats are limited.
Bike Through Rural Villages
Pedal quiet lanes past rubber and coconut plantations and Muslim fishing hamlets for an unfiltered look at island life. Bicycles are easy to rent near the shore, and a loop of an hour or so covers the island's flattest, most scenic stretches.
Explore the Mangrove Coves
Wander or paddle along tidal mangrove channels where roots twist into the karst-lined shallows, a cooler, shaded contrast to the open bay views. Local guides can point out the best access points near the landing area.
