About the Port
Chobe National Park spreads across northern Botswana near the town of Kasane, where the Chobe River marks the border with Namibia. The park is renowned for its dense elephant population, among the largest concentrations found anywhere on the continent, along with buffalo, hippo, and abundant birdlife drawn to the river's floodplains and the wetlands surrounding Sedudu Island.
Access typically comes through Kasane, a small gateway town connected by air to Johannesburg, with lodges positioned along the riverbank at the edge of the wilderness. Game drives by 4x4 reveal the park's woodlands and open plains, while boat safaris on the Chobe River offer a quieter vantage point for observing wildlife as it gathers along the water's edge, especially in late afternoon light.
