Wittenberg sits on the Elbe River in eastern Germany, a compact town whose narrow streets hold an outsized place in religious history. See the Theses Door
The bronze door of Castle Church marks the spot where Luther's 95 Theses were reputedly posted; climb the tower for wide views over the Elbe plain, a short walk from the old town center.
