WILDLIFE WORRIORS Discover the world’s most successful rescue and rehabilitation program for orphaned elephants and rhinos at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Orphans, rescued from threats such as poaching and habitat loss, are brought to the Nairobi Nursery for round-the-clock care from dedicated Keepers, who help them heal from grief and trauma. As the animals recover, they move to reintegration centers like Ithumba, where they learn vital survival skills and gradually reconnect with wild herds. Many eventually return to the wild, and the project has even welcomed 92 babies born to former orphans now thriving in their natural habitat.
