This morning, visit Boys Town. An actual working town, Boys Town is the creation of Father Flanagan and was the subject of the 1930’s movie starring Spencer Tracy and Mickey Rooney. See the museum, chapel and the restored 1920’s home of Father Flanagan. Experience Omaha’s Czech culture with kolaches and coffee at their Cultural Museum. Lunch is in a Polish home complete with entertainment. Explore the city’s past at the former Union Station, the Durham Museum. Later, arrive at St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church for a homemade Greek dinner and dance performance. Tour the Byzantine-style church, see the gold décor and learn the meaning of the icons. After lunch, stroll through Lauritzen Gardens, one of the nation’s premier botanical gardens.
