ITINERARY

Day 1 - SUNDAY
Meet at the Paris hotel chosen by the group for a Private Driver Transfer to ‘Belmond Fleur de Lys,’ moored in Lyon. A welcome reception awaits, with time to relax before a first delicious dinner on board.

Day 2 - MONDAY
Tour Lyon this morning, beginning with a visit to the imposing Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built in the late 19th century. Continue to a silk weavers' workshop with time at leisure to browse the chic boutiques or linger at a sidewalk café. Return to the barge for lunch on board and the afternoon cruise to Montmerle.

Day 3 - TUESDAY
Savor the best Beaujolais vintages today, with a wine tasting at Château de la Chaize. Then cruise to Mâcon, a thriving market town. Take a gentle trek to the Roche de Solutré, a picturesque escarpment with breathtaking views of the surrounding Mâconnais vineyards. Enjoy a sumptuous dinner on board this evening.

Day 4 - WEDNESDAY
Savor the beauty of southern Burgundy as you continue cruising along the Saône River to Tournus. After lunch, take an excursion to the Benedictine Abbey of Cluny, for centuries the wealthiest and most powerful church in the world.

Day 5 - THURSDAY
This morning, 'Fleur de Lys' cruises to Chalon-sur-Saône. Enjoy lunch at a charming restaurant in Beaune – then visit Hôtel-Dieu, a magnificent 15th-century charity hospital with a splendid tiled roof. Continue to the cellars of Joseph Drouhin for a tasting. Both French kings and the Dukes of Burgundy once stored their favorite wines here.

Day 6 - FRIDAY
Soak up the bustling atmosphere of market day on a walking tour of Chalon-sur-Saône this morning. After lunch on board, cruise to Seurre with an opportunity to stroll to the port where many working and pleasure barges are moored. A gala farewell dinner this evening celebrates the cruise week.

Day 7 - SATURDAY
After breakfast, a Private Driver Transfer to Paris marks the end of your journey.
