Discovering the Rhine

Upon arrival in Amsterdam you are met and transferred to your hotel. This evening, join your A&K Tour Director for a welcome dinner.

Visit the newly-renovated Rijksmuseum to view its treasures. Continue to the Van Gogh Museum, dedicated to the famous Impressionist painter and his contemporaries. After lunch, step inside the Anne Frank House where the celebrated young author wrote her World War II diary. Transfer to your ship where priority embarkation has been arranged. This evening, enjoy a welcome cocktail before dinner.

Tour Amsterdam, viewing the Royal Palace and Nieuwe Kerk (New Church), and board a canal boat to cruise the city’s historic canal district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then continue to Volendam and visit a cheese farm. Tonight, join your A&K Tour Director for a private cocktail party in the ship's Amadeus Club.

Dock in Cologne for a walking tour of the old city that includes a visit to the stunning Gothic cathedral that has graced the city’s skyline since the 13th century.

On an A&K-exclusive excursion, visit Burg Eltz, an enchanting 13th-century castle hidden amid a pine forest. In Cochem, take a walking tour of this pretty town surrounded by vineyards.

In Koblenz, explore on your own or join an optional tour. Then, cruise a postcard-perfect stretch of the Rhine. In Rüdesheim, you have the option to visit Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Museum.

Visit Heidelberg, a lively university town. In the afternoon, you may choose an optional guided walk in Speyer. Tonight, join your captain back on board for a gala dinner.

Tour Strasbourg, including the Gothic cathedral with its beautiful stained glass windows and marvelous astronomical clock. Visit the city’s historic center (or Grand Île).

Disembark for a tour of Basel, visiting its cathedral and local market. After lunch at a local restaurant, stop at a chocolatier’s workshop for a tasting. Enjoy a farewell dinner this evening.
