Day 2: San Francisco
Visit the 62-acre Quarryhill Botanical Gardens, home to one of the largest collections of scientifically documented wild source temperate Asian plants in North America and Europe, which were planted by Quarryhill's owners in an effort to fully represent the endangered habitats of Eastern Asia. Planting new seedlings continues every spring and fall, with oaks, maples, dogwoods, lilies and roses particularly well represented in the garden. Increased efforts have been made to focus on rare and endangered species from China and Japan.
Next, head to Loxton Cellars, a vineyard known for its limited production of ultra-premium Syrah wines as well as Zinfandels, California's "native" grape. After enjoying a food and wine pairing at Loxton Cellars, stroll through the vineyards with the owner who later shares his collectible varietals with you and offers a private barrel tasting.

Day 3: San Francisco/Napa Valley
This morning you may take an optional hot-air balloon ride over this scenic valley or simply enjoy your beautiful resort. This afternoon, privately visit two of the region's most prominent vineyards. Far Niente is a historic wine estate, founded in 1885 by John Benson, a forty-niner of the California gold rush and uncle of the famous American impressionist painter Winslow Homer. Far Niente produces one Chardonnay and one Cabernet Sauvignon, both known for their high quality (if a wine does not meet Niente's standards, it does not make the final blend). Enjoy a private tasting of their award-winning varietals with the opportunity to purchase a signed case of assorted wines for your private cellar.
At Francis Ford Coppola's Rubicon Estate learn about the history of Napa Valley, the director's vineyard - whose cellars sometimes serve as storage for his theatrical props - and the film industry. Afterward, enjoy tasting fine varietals.
