Day 1:
Arrive Santiago, Chile
Meet your A&K representative and transfer to your hotel. This afternoon, discover picturesque Santiago during a guided sightseeing tour. This leafy, cosmopolitan city features distinct neighborhoods, grand architecture and picturesque hillside parks.
Day 2: San Pedro de Atacama | Lodge Luxury
Fly to Calama and transfer to your lodge in San Pedro de Atacama, a quaint oasis town that resides in the driest desert in the world — Atacama. It is believed that the region’s high quantities of quartz and copper lend positive energy. The Atacama acts as the hub for your explorations in the area over the next two days.
Days 3-4: San Pedro de Atacama | Atacamanian Culture
Spend two full days exploring San Pedro de Atacama, with its fields of steaming geysers, otherworldly rock formations and peculiar landscapes. Trekking, walking and biking are just a few of the ways to experience the unique landscapes.
Day 5: San Antonio Wine Valley | Vineyard Lunch
Fly to Santiago and transfer to the San Antonio wine valley, where you settle into your accommodations, a restored colonial house set amid countryside, woodland and winelands. Sit down to a vineyard lunch. The rolling landscape is divided into four sectors: Leyda, Lo Abarca, Rosario and Malvilla; its cool climate produces wines with great acidity and minerality.
Day 6: Valparaiso | City and Coast
Drive to picturesque, colorful Valparaiso, famous for its labyrinthine hills, covered with vibrant old houses; it is accessible only by a steep climb or funicular railway. The city’s historic quarter was recently named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take a city tour, stopping at Pablo Neruda’s residence. Continue up the coast to Viña del Mar, a popular beach town among locals.
Day 7: Punta Arenas | Puerto Natales
Fly to Punta Arenas. Once a booming port city, Punta Arenas lost prominence with the opening of the Panama Canal. From Punta Arenas, drive to your elegantly rustic lodge, which is your base for exploring spectacular Patagonia. Your guide explains the activity options available to you over the next few days.
Days 8-10: Puerto Natales | Torres del Paine National Park
Spend three full days exploring the World Biosphere Reserve of remote, rugged and windswept Torres del Paine National Park. You are free to choose from a variety of amenities available at your lodge, and you may explore the area’s magnificent beauty by vehicle, on horseback, by boat and on foot.
Day 11: Depart Torres del Paine National Park
Fly to Santiago and board your international flight.
