Arrive in Johannesburg and transfer to your boutique hotel.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your scheduled, shared light aircraft transfer flight to the Madikwe Game Reserve. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge, tucked amid a lush riverside forest in the reserve. Your glass-walled suite features a fireplace, open-fronted lounge and uninterrupted views of the river and the surrounding bush. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure, enjoying game-viewing activities or the on-site spa. The next day, embark on morning and evening game drives in an open safari vehicle, keeping watch for Africa’s “Big Five” — elephants, lions, rhinos, buffalo and leopards. You may also experience the natural environment on foot during a guided walking safari.

After breakfast, fly to Rattray’s on Mala Mala, situated within the Mala Mala Game Reserve. Check in to your luxury suite, taking time to lounge on your private veranda with grand river views or swim in your heated plunge pool, built in to your private veranda. Spend the following two days viewing game in this private, wildlife-populated reserve. You may also opt to explore the bush on foot with expert guides and trackers.

Fly to Cape Town via Hoedspruit. Then, transfer to your hotel in Franschhoek, nestled within the Cape Winelands. Spend this day and the next experiencing the region. Enjoy a tasting at Rustenberg Estate, a privately owned winery, followed by a cheese tasting in Franschhoek. At Morgenhot, take a cellar tour and pause for a wine tasting. Then, explore historic Paarl.

Discover Cape Point, passing the “bikini beaches” of Clifton and Camps Bay, the bucolic Hout Bay valley and Chapman’s Peak Drive (conditions permitting). Ascend the Cape of Good Hope by funicular, and see endangered penguins at Boulders Beach. Visit Simon’s Town, and explore the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens.

Ascend Table Mountain by cable car (weather permitting). Tour ruggedly beautiful Cape Town, seeing Groote Kerk church, City Hall and the Grand Parade. Stroll through the scenic Company Gardens, and witness the 17th-century Castle of Good Hope. Spend the afternoon at leisure.

Transfer to the airport and board your homebound flight.
