ITINERARY

Day: 1
An energetic urban hub for finance with a dynamic arts scene and on-trend café culture, Johannesburg is your journey’s jumping-off point. Settle into your hotel and relax.

Day: 2
Fly by private air to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Continue to your luxurious lodge, where you stay in a tented suite with views of the Zambezi River. At dusk, cruise the river, cocktail in hand, as life unfolds along the banks. Gather for a welcome dinner.

Day: 3
Rise early for an interactive animal adventure when you privately visit an elephant sanctuary to meet the gentle giants living there. View the elephants up close in the bush, watching them eat and socialize, during an unforgettable hands-on encounter led by a naturalist. After breakfast, proceed to breathtaking Victoria Falls, one of the world’s greatest natural wonders, which you explore on a guided walk. Explore the town of Victoria Falls before returning to the lodge for time to relax. Set out on an afternoon game drive through Zambezi National Park.

Day: 4
En route to the airport this morning, stop at a nearby village to meet a member of the Monde Community for a tour of a local homestead and visit their school, supported by A&K Philanthropy. Fly by private charter to Maun, Botswana, and then by light aircraft to the Okavango Delta. Continue overland to Chief’s Camp, situated in the Moremi Game Reserve, nicknamed the “predator capital of Africa” and one of Botswana’s best places to watch wildlife. Settle in and then set out on an afternoon game drive. A watery haven of more than a million acres of swamp and seasonally flooded plains, the Okavango Delta attracts a diversity of species.

Day: 5
Rise early for a game drive through the reserve, where elephants, buffalo, antelope and lions roam free. Marvel at the incredible wildlife on an afternoon game drive. Savor a chef-led culinary experience before dinner.

Day: 6
Revel in another day of game drives in the bush. Optionally, if seasonal water levels allow, glide by mokoro through the tranquil delta waters, watching for wildlife.

Day: 7
Return to Maun and fly by private charter to Windhoek, Namibia, and onward to Sossusvlei by light aircraft. Drive to your luxurious desert lodge, where you enjoy a choice of activities such as nature drives on foot or by 4x4 vehicle. Come dark, visit the lodge’s state-of-the-art observatory for stargazing.

Day: 8
Discover renowned Sossusvlei, a place of otherworldly beauty. The salt-and-clay pan is surrounded by towering dunes that, together with the sky, make up a palette of burnt oranges and vivid blues. Again, choose from an array of engaging activities as you venture into this fascinating terrain with local experts. After an opportunity to climb the tallest dune, “Big Daddy,” return to your lodge.

Day: 9
Rise before dawn for a hot air balloon adventure, viewing the fascinating desert terrain from a new perspective. Land to eat breakfast in the desert. Opt for a guided afternoon trail ride by e-bike across the desert’s awe-inspiring terrain.

Day: 10
Rise early for a nature drive or guided walk to explore the northern part of the Namib Rand Nature Reserve. Fly by light aircraft to Windhoek, and then on to Cape Town via private air. Cape Town is a cosmopolitan tapestry of life, culture, and diversity where art and design studios imbue the atmosphere with a hip, creative vibe — all overlooked by towering Table Mountain.

Day: 11
Sit down to a special private breakfast with the world-renowned photographer who captured the now iconic image of Nelson Mandela’s release from prison. Hear his recollections of his personal friendship with Mandela at that pivotal time in history, and then visit Robben Island, where the anti-apartheid leader — and eventual South African president — was once imprisoned. Privately explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site and view a cell where Mandela was held. Ascend Table Mountain by cable car to take in the gorgeous views. Sample the culinary treasures of Cape Town with dinner at a local restaurant.

Day: 12
Discover Cape Point, the rugged promontory at the southwestern tip of Africa. Venture past Camps Bay at the base of the Twelve Apostles Mountains, and continue past the Hout Bay region, with its bustling fishing harbor, and over Chapman’s Peak Drive. Explore the Cape Peninsula and Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Ascend by funicular to the pinnacle at Cape Point for some stunning views. At Boulders Beach, visit its colony of endangered African penguins. Gather for your farewell dinner.

Day: 13
After breakfast, privately transfer to the airport for your departing flight.
