The reserve, which covers 22,000 acres of land, converges in the south at Cape Point, a great pinnacle of rock. You have the opportunity to climb the steps or ride a funicular railway, the "Flying Dutchman," to the top where you may see southern right whale in spring and early summer, dolphin and a variety of seabirds. You also have the chance to view some resident seals and a colony of endangered African penguin - a rare and rewarding experience.
