See the famous sights of historic London, including Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey. Leave London for Windsor Castle, the Queen's favorite
residence. View Eton College from the castle ramparts and then
wander through the boutiques in the old town. Continue to Oxford
for a private tour of Christchurch College, the location for many
scenes from the Harry Potter films. Then drive into the Cotswolds
to Lower Slaughter Manor, your base for the next two nights.
Explore Stratford, William Shakespeare's birthplace, and see his
final resting place, Holy Trinity Church. Head toward Warwick
Castle and observe an exhibition of Edwardian life created in wax
by representatives of Madame Tussaud's.
Days 4-5
Spend the day in the Cotswold hills, stopping at
romantic Sudeley Castle. Visit the little town of Tetbury. Later drive
past Highgrove, the private residence of the Prince of Wales, before
arriving at your hotel in Bath, The Royal Crescent. This lovely
Georgian city began as a Roman camp in the first century AD and
emerged into a spa resort town in the 1700s.
Days 6-7
Head to prehistoric Stonehenge on the Salisbury
Plain and continue to the 13th-century cathedral in Salisbury. At
the Chapter House you can view the best-preserved of the four
surviving original copies of the Magna Carta. Return to London
for a two-night stay at Brown's Hotel. Explore the Bloomsbury
area, home to the British Museum, and go to the South Bank of
the Thames to see the Tate Modern Gallery and Sam Wanamaker's
reconstruction of Shakespeare's Globe Theater.
