Day 1
Fly from Yangon to Putao and transfer to your lodge, only accessible by road during the summer. Afternoon sightseeing includes a trek into the hills, where you can look for Putao's famous "Black Orchid" and take in vistas of the picturesque snow-capped mountains. Afterward, enjoy kayaking back to the lodge.
Day 2
Embark on a full-day Malikha cruise by long-tail boat to visit the village of Machanbaw.
Day 3
Spend the day biking through the countryside and kayaking along the beautiful river in Lisu territory.
Day 4
Fly to Bagan via Mandalay and transfer to your hotel.
Day 5
Board the elegant Orient-Express river cruiser 'Road to Mandalay,' your home for the next four nights along the Ayeyarwady River. Along the way, 'Road to Mandalay' calls at villages on the river, allowing you to experience the slower pace of life in Myanmar firsthand.
Days 6-9
Disembark in Mandalay and travel to Maymyo, where sightseeing includes the All Saints Church, built in 1912. The Kandawgyi National Gardens was modeled after the Kew Gardens of England with the help of a Kew Gardens botanist named Lady Cuff. Afterward, visit the 100-year-old Al Jamal Mosque before returning to Mandalay.
Day 10
Fly from Mandalay to Heho and transfer to your resort.
Day 11
Tour the beautiful Inle Lake region, where the native Intha farm and fish along the lake shore.
Day 12
After flying to Yangon, sights include the inspiring Reclining Buddha; the Sule Pagoda, an important temple surrounded by colonial era buildings in the heart of the city; Botataung Pagoda, scenically located on the Yangon River and the National Museum. End the day with the breathtaking sight of the Shwedagon Pagoda.
Day 13
Transfer to the airport to board your homebound flight.
