The Marlborough started its life in 1901 as a covent and recently underwent a complete renovation creating a 10 suite luxury Hotel. The renovation highlighted historic elements of the building and combined those with a modern eclectic mix of colours, patterns and fabrics, creating a warm and inviting environment for our guests to call home. Each of the suites are individual in their decor and the shapes are dictated by the history of the building. The New Zealand art throughout showcases the talent in the country and the beautiful NZ wool blankets and bathroom products are perfect to snuggle into or luxuriate with. This property has been design with relaxation in mind, with a variety of spaces in and around the main building along with a seperate entertainment building which was once a Chapel, a large outdoor fireplace to enjoy a glass of wine by at the end of each day and two spacious dining rooms to enjoy for lunch or dinner. The team of Chefs prepare a seasonal ala carte dinner each evening (which changes daily) at Harvest the onsite restaurant showcasing the produce from our gardens and region and using the charcoal oven to enhance the flavours. Nestled in the midst of 16 acres of gardens with a spring feed creek, small lake, heated swimming pool, grass tennis courts, helipad and over 400 Trees, Shrubs, Orchards, Citrus Gove, vegetable and herb gardens along with a vineyard which produces wine for Harvest makes it the perfect luxury food and wine destination in NZ. Situated at the top of the South Island in region that boast the most sunshine hrs in all of NZ and just 15 mins from the stunning Marlborough Sounds, where native bush runs down to the waters edge. Here you will also find native animal reserves, a wide array of marine and birdlife and options to cruise, kayak, hike or mountain bike in a pristine area that is large and mostly uninhabited.
