About the Port
The Calf of Man is a small, uninhabited islet separated from the main island's southern coast by the swirling waters of Calf Sound. Long managed as a nature reserve, it shelters a bird observatory and provides nesting grounds for seabirds such as Manx shearwaters, along with grey seals that haul out on its rocky shores. The terrain is rugged and largely open, shaped by centuries of wind and sea.
Access is by small boat only, as there is no pier, and landings depend on calm conditions and tide. Visitors typically explore on foot along simple paths, taking in coastal views back toward the Isle of Man's cliffs and the working farmland nearby.
