About The Port Of Las Bachas
Las Bachas lies along the northern shore of Santa Cruz Island in the Galápagos Archipelago, its powdery white sand formed largely from coral. The beach takes its name from old barges left behind decades ago, remnants now settled quietly into the landscape. Behind the shoreline, a shallow brackish lagoon draws flamingos and shorebirds, while marine iguanas and sally lightfoot crabs move across the volcanic rock nearby.
Access is by wet landing from small excursion boats, since there is no pier, and calm, clear waters make the site a favorite for swimming and snorkeling alongside sea turtles and rays.
