ITINERARY

Oslo
Your journey begins with an overnight stay in Oslo, where you’ll be greeted at the airport and escorted to your luxury accommodation for the night. Arrive early and spend the day exploring the Norwegian capital to see the blend of modern Scandinavian architecture, meets cool waterfront dining and medieval Viking folklore.

Oslo > Longyearbyen
Your Discovery Yacht awaits in Longyearbyen, the capital of the Norwegian Svalbard Archipelago and the world’s northernmost territorial capital. Towering glaciers and mountains stretching as far as the eye can see will delight your curious spirit. Upon embarking, meet the world-class crew on board Scenic Eclipse, including the Discovery Team, who will share their passion and knowledge about the your destination. Settle into your spacious suite before raising a glass of Champagne with fellow guests on the Observation Deck to toast your onward journey. As you set sail, you may even see the northern lights dancing in the sky.

Svalbard Archipelago
Due to the extraordinary nature of Svalbard, your itinerary will be flexible over the next five days. Your experienced Captain and Discovery Leader will use their expertise to design this section of your voyage from day to day, making the most of the long hours, weather and ice conditions to give you the best experience possible in this extraordinary part of the world. Daily Discovery excursions include Zodiac cruises, guided kayaking and nature walks where you can discover the majestic Arctic scenery, native wildlife and marine life. Then join the Discovery Team for insightful lectures in the state-of-the-art theatre.

Svalbard Archipelago
As you continue cruising around Svalbard, there may be opportunities to observe wildlife such as whales, Arctic foxes, seals and seabirds. Be sure to keep the binoculars provided in your suite with you during your time on board or use the Swarovski telescopes in the Observation Lounge for a closer look at the Arctic wildlife. For wildlife photographers, we recommend bringing a telephoto lens for capturing distant wildlife. A true culinary journey awaits every day on board with up to 10 extraordinary all-inclusive dining experiences and nine bars and lounges. As dusk falls, choose between steak and seafood at Elements, channel the spirit of Asia at Koko’s or journey to France at Lumière. Discovery: You will partake in daily Scenic Discovery excursions by Zodiac, kayak and through nature walks. Open the midnight sun relieving blackout curtains in your ultra-luxury suite and step onto your private verandah to take in the inspiring view. Every day brings a new magical vista, from magnificent glaciers in iceberg dotted waters to jagged snow topped mountains towering over green slopes of tundra. Listen out for the loud crack of a glacier calving as you soak in the scenery from the Observation Deck and keep your eyes peeled for movement on the ice and in the water. Svalbard Archipelago
Mark this day in Svalbard with a once-in-a-lifetime experience. For many, the polar plunge is an exhilarating rite of passage and, while the day may change, your Discovery Team will always look for a special place to set up the Discovery Yacht’s marina so that you can wear your swimsuit and leap into the icy water below. After the plunge, warm up with a drink of your choice, from a specialty tea to an aged whiskey, or head to the infrared saunas in the Senses Spa# for some relaxation. Discovery: You will partake in daily Scenic Discovery excursions by Zodiac, kayak and through nature walks. Discover majestic Arctic scenery, tundra landscapes, and native wildlife and marine life, exploring pristine locations.

Bear Island, Svalbard
Enjoy the remote wilderness of the Svalbard Archipelago, a dramatic polar desert surrounded by rugged glaciers, frozen tundra and craggy mountain peaks. Bear Island, or Bjørnøya in Norwegian, is the southernmost island in the archipelago. It’s home to the largest seabird colony in the northern hemisphere with around 1.5 million nesting birds – use the binoculars in your suite to spot Svalbard rock ptarmigans, puffins, skuas, little auks, kittiwakes, black guillemots and more. If conditions allow, join a Zodiac cruise to explore spectacular sea caves or possibly step ashore on an island where the only inhabitants work at a meteorological station.

Cruising North Cape
Today treat yourself to a drink at the Scenic Bar and Lounge or soak in the stunning views from the Observation Lounge after lunch for a remarkable sight. You will sail past Nordkapp, or North Cape, soaring 307 metres from the sea into the sky. This is the northernmost point of Europe, where the sun doesn’t set for up to three months over summer. Use your time today to dive into Norwegian history and the legends of the fjords with engaging lectures from the Discovery Team.

Tromsø, Norway
Known as the cultural hub of the Arctic, Tromsø sits 400 kilometres above the Arctic Circle. Surprisingly cosmopolitan for its remote location, during the summer Tromsø is full of locals basking in the endless sunlight, tucking into fresh seafood on the docks, enjoying a drink at the world’s northernmost brewery or taking a dip in the refreshing waters of the local beach. Tromsø has been the starting point for many Arctic expeditions over the past two centuries, and you can follow in the footsteps of legendary explorers through the town or learn their stories at the museum. Arctic Hiking Adventure with Huskies: Explore the Arctic wilderness on a guided hike with a spirited husky as your companion! After trekking through stunning landscapes, visit the puppy enclosure to play and take photos with adorable future sledding stars at Tromsø Villmarkssenter. Enrich Private Concert at Arctic Cathedral: Enjoy a private evening concert in Tromsø’s most celebrated venue, the starkly beautiful Arctic Cathedral. Enjoy a selection from the Norwegian classical canon, folk songs and liturgical music during this exclusive recital. 

Cruising Trollfjord > Lofoten Islands
This morning you will sail through the majestic Trollfjord. With a narrow entrance and steep mountains along each side, it appears almost too small for the Discovery Yacht to enter. Stand on your private verandah after lunch or join the other passengers on the Observation Terrace as you sail into the Lofoten Islands. Rising dramatically from the sea, these tall, craggy outcrops with impossibly blue water, sheltered coves and pristine beaches are must-see. Leknes is the gateway to the islands’ outdoor adventures with sea kayaking, hiking, birdwatching and even surfing available nearby. Freechoice: Lofoten Heritage Trail: Explore Lofotens traditional life and stunning landscapes. Visit Flakstad Church, Sunds local museum, and Reine village. Vestvagæy Views & Viking Farm: Experience Viking life at Borgs Lofotr Viking Farm and enjoy panoramic views from Hagskaret and Einangen viewpoints. Wonderful West Lofoten: Appreciate spectacular landscapes, charming fishing heritage and flavours of the sea, with scenic touring in the village of Reine.

At Sea
After busy days, take some time today to relax. You may choose a class in one of the wellness spaces, soothe your muscles in one of the therapy lounges, or book an indulgent treatment# in the Senses Spa. Meet new friends at the Scenic Lounge Bar or Sky Deck or ask the butler to bring your favourite cocktail to your private verandah. The Discovery Team will be hosting lectures in the state-of-the-art theatre, recapping the wonders you have seen so far and providing inspiration for the ports to come.

Hellesylt > Geiranger, Norway
The World Heritage-listed Geirangerfjord is one of the most mesmerising scenes in Norway, where you can sail over sparkling waters beneath 800metre high cliffs. Explore the protected fjord with the Discovery Team. Your Discovery Yacht’s GPS Dynamic Positioning will enable her to maintain location without dropping anchor, preserving the sensitive eco-system. The fjord is one of the best kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding opportunities of your voyage and a chance to quietly glide past waterfalls tumbling from snow covered mountain peaks. For more incredible views take to the skies in one of our on board helicopters^. Freechoice: Norwegian Fjordland Explorer: Embark on a scenic journey from Hellesylt to Geiranger, exploring the charming town of Stryn and Jostedalsbreen National Park. Geiranger Fjord Centre: Explore the interactive centre, enjoy panoramic views at Eagle’s Bend Viewpoint and Flydal Gorge Viewpoint. Hiking Westerås: Hike to Storseter Falls and Westerås Mountain Farm for panoramic views. Geirangerfjord Kayaking: Glide through the stunning Geirangerfjord by kayak. Mount Dalsnibba: Take a scenic journey to Mount Dalsnibba before reaching the summit for awe-inspiring vistas. Geirangerfjord by RIB: Speed through Geirangerfjord on a high-speed rigid inflatable boat (RIB), passing scenic spots like Bridal Veil Waterfalls.

Ålesund, Norway
An Art Nouveau gem at the entrance to Geirangerfjord, Ålesund is one of Norway’s most beautiful cities. Completely reborn after a devastating fire in 1904, its gorgeous architecture acts like a living time capsule. Wander the streets lined with some of the best period architecture in Europe or learn about the city’s unique history at the Art Nouveau Centre & the Art Museum KUBE. View otters, seals, Humboldt penguins, fish and more at Northern Europe’s largest saltwater aquarium, Atlanterhavsparken. A late departure lets you experience the vibrant nightlife in a place where the sun doesn’t set until close to midnight. Freechoice: City Train Tour: Explore Ålesund’s Art Nouveau architecture and enjoy panoramic views from Mount Aksla by train. RIB Bird Watching Tour: Zoom to Runde Island in a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) for a birdwatching adventure, spotting puffins and eagles. City Walk and Hike to Mount Aksla: Hike to Mount Aksla for panoramic fjord views, descend 418 steps, and admire Ålesund’s Art Nouveau architecture. Flåm > Gudvangen, Norway
Nestled at the heart of Sognefjord and flanked by steep mountains, the tiny village of Flam is one of Norway’s most popular destinations. Here you can take one of the world’s most spectacular railway journeys, the 20 kilometre Flam Railway, which offers unobstructed views of the valley as it winds gently through the peaks towards the town centre. Depart after lunch for a scenic cruise through the majestic Nærøyfjord. This World Heritage-listed site is the most wild and beautiful arm of Sognefjord, with towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls. Later, be immersed in the charming village of Gudvangen, nestled amidst dramatic landscapes. Freechoice: Fjord Safari: An adventure on board a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) through the spectacular Aurlandsfjord to Beitelen and back, experiencing nature and wildlife at close range. Viking Village & Tvinde Waterfall: Witness Tvinde Waterfall before learning about the Viking era and trying traditional activities at an authentic Viking Village. Scenic Flåm Railway: Admire the stunning scenery and learn about the remarkable engineering of the unique Flåm Railway, including a stop at Kjosfossen Waterfall. Brekkefossen Waterfall Hike (led by Discovery Team): Experience the beauty of Brekkefossen Waterfall on a guided hike. Enjoy a peaceful stroll through Flåm, then ascend to a scenic ledge for stunning views of the falls and valley—a must-see adventure! The Royal Fjord Passage: Take the Flåm Railway to Myrdal, continue by train to Voss, then enjoy a countryside lunch and a scenic drive with photo stops.

Bergen, Norway
You’ll finish your journey in one the World Heritage-listed city of Bergen. Savour one last delicious breakfast on your Discovery Yacht before saying farewell to the crew who have shared this once-in-a-lifetime journey with you. As you disembark, share the highlights of your voyage in this spectacular part of the world with your new friends, knowing you have created stories for life. Please book your flight to depart out of Bergen after 12:00 PM. ^Flights on board our two helicopters and submersible experiences are at additional cost, subject to regulatory approval, availability, weight restrictions, medical approval and weather, ice and tidal conditions.
