SET OUT ON THE FAMED ROCKY MOUNTAINEER FOR A JOURNEY THROUGH SOME OF THE BEST CITIES, THE MOST CHARMING TOWNS AND THE MOST AWE-INSPIRING SITES THE CANADIAN ROCKIES HAVE TO OFFER.

Spend 9 days circling through the very best of the Canadian Rockies and getting an insider's glimpse of Canada on this expedition. The tour begins in coastal Vancouver; sightsee your way through the city upon arrival, then the next morning, board the Rocky Mountaineer bound for Kamloops. After an overnight, reboard the train to enjoy the scenery provided by Mount Robson, Pyramid Falls, and other mountainous sites as we make our way to Jasper.

From Jasper, the tour continues through the amazing Columbia Icefield to Lake Louise. The lake's famous Chateau awaits for your comfort, and there is plenty of free time to explore the grounds. After a tour through Yoho National Park, we transfer to Banff for an overnight and a group sightseeing tour. It is also in Banff that we step back onto the Rocky Mountaineer for daylight-only travel to Kamloops, and then to Vancouver, where the tour comes to a close.

ITINERARY

Day 1 - Vancouver
Arrive in Vancouver and spend time exploring this scenic city on your own. Overnight in Vancouver.

Day 2 - Vancouver to Kamloops
Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Kamloops. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell's Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. Overnight in Kamloops. (B, L)

Day 3 - Kamloops to Jasper
Your rail adventure continues north and east to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Highlights include Mount Robson, at 3,954 meters (12,972 feet) the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Pyramid Falls, and the climb over the Yellowhead Pass into Jasper National Park. Overnight in Jasper. (B, L)

Day 4 - Jasper to Lake Louise
Travel along one of the most scenic highways in the world, the Icefields Parkway to Lake Louise. A stop will be made at Athabasca Falls before arriving at the Columbia Icefield. Here you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier. Afterward, a brief stop will be made at Bow Lake before arriving in Lake Louise this afternoon. Overnight in Lake Louise. Day 5 - Lake Louise to Banff
Take a half-day tour into Yoho National Park to view some of its natural wonders. Among the attractions are the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and a natural rock bridge that spans the Kicking Horse River. At the end of the tour you will be transferred to Banff. Overnight in Banff. (L)

Day 6 - Banff Sightseeing
Today enjoy a sightseeing tour of Banff including visits to Bow Falls, a ride on the Banff Gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain, Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos. Overnight in Banff.

Day 7 - Banff to Kamloops
Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from Banff to Kamloops, in the heart of British Columbia's interior. Highlights include the Continental Divide, the Spiral Tunnels, the Kicking Horse Canyon, Rogers Pass and Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven. Overnight in Kamloops. (B, L)

Day 8 - Kamloops to Vancouver
Your journey continues west towards the coastal city of Vancouver. Highlights include the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River and the rushing waters of Hell's Gate in the Fraser Canyon. Overnight in Vancouver. (B, L)

Day 9 - Vancouver
Your Canadian Rockies Getaway vacation ends with check-out from your Vancouver hotel.
