ITINERARY

Leave Dijon to cruise to the traditional village of Fleurey, nestled in the picturesque valley of the River Ouche. You may choose to tour the C?te de Nuits vineyards, including a visit to the Ch?teau of Clos de Vougeot for a wine tasting. The 12th-century Ch?teau is the home of the exclusive gastronomic organization, the Confr?rie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, founded to promote the wines of Burgundy. 'Saroche' Barge B L D

Day 1: Sunday
Return to cosmopolitan Dijon on market day to experience the colorful open and covered stalls. Visit the Fine Arts Museum in the former Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy - or simply stroll one of the town's many pedestrian thoroughfares. Continue cruising through the tranquil countryside of the Ouche Valley, passing Pont de Pany and Sainte-Marie-sur-Ouche en route to Gissey. Day 2: Monday
Cruise a delightful, tree-lined section of the canal today, past the picturesque village of Saint Victor to La Bussi?re sur Ouche. During the afternoon excursion to Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Then, visit both the splendid 15th-century H?tel-Dieu, a charity hospital financed by local vineyard owners, and the cellars of Bouchard P?re et Fils for a tasting of the local vintages. Day 3: Tuesday
Relax on board this morning while 'Saroche' cruises past serene valleys where Charolais cattle graze beside the Canal. Enjoy lunch at the beautiful Abbaye de la Bussi?re, followed by a stroll around the grounds and a visit to a local pottery studio before returning to 'Saroche' for dinner. 'Saroche' Barge B L D

Day 4: Wednesday
A final cruise on a winding stretch of the canal takes 'Saroche' past the hillside villages of Bouhey and Ch?teauneuf to Vandenesse-en-Auxois. Visit handsome Ch?teau de Commarin with its fine collection of 16th-century tapestries. Day 5: Thursday
After breakfast, transfer back to Sofitel Dijon La Cloche in Dijon. B
