Day 2: SUNDAY
In Dijon, known for its mustard, embark on a walking tour of its lovely medieval center this morning. After the tour ‘Caprice’ continues cruising on the Burgundy Canal. You have opportunities to walk or cycle on the towpath. This evening’s mooring is in Longecourt with a beautiful view of the Château Longecourt.
Day 3: MONDAY
Local monks produced wine at Clos de Vougeot as early as the 12th century. Enjoy a private wine tasting in Nuits St. Georges before the afternoon cruise to St-Jean-de-Losne, where the Burgundy Canal meets the River Saône. Continue to the lovely town of Seurre.
Day 4: TUESDAY
This morning take a guided walking tour of the old town of Seurre. Cruise to Chalon-sur-Saône, the second-largest city in Burgundy and an important trading center since Gallo-Roman times.
Day 5: WEDNESDAY
‘Caprice’ enters the Canal du Centre today via a lock with a 50-foot rise. Cruise along an attractive, winding stretch where a good towpath and fairly frequent locks offer ample opportunities to walk or cycle.
Explore Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy. Visit the magnificent Hôtel-Dieu, a charity hospital founded in 1443 and boasting the finest Burgundian- Flemish architecture in the world. Visit the local market before cruising to the lovely town of Chagny. Your cruise takes you along the Canal du Centre amid the famous vineyards of Santenay.
Day 6: THURSDAY
Visit the nearby village of Rully for a private guided tour of the 12th-century château with wine tasting. Later, ‘Caprice’ cruises to the picturesque village of St-Léger-sur- Dheune for a gala farewell dinner.
Day 7: FRIDAY
After breakfast, transfer back
to Dijon where your journey concludes.
