Day 1 - Arrive Santiago, Chile
Arrive in Santiago, where you are met and transferred to your accommodations situated in Santiago's bohemian-chic Lastarria neighborhood. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure or explore the city on your own. Leafy Santiago is an exuberant capital city that combines the modern and the classic in everything from its historic architecture to its burgeoning arts scene.
Day 2 - Santiago
Enjoy a day at leisure, free to explore the city’s mix of old and new on your own, take advantage of your hotel’s many amenities or simply relax. You may choose to discover iconic sights, such as the Italian-designed La Moneda presidential palace and the Plaza de Armas set alongside its exciting museums, sidewalk cafés and award-winning restaurants. Or perhaps visit an urban park atop San Cristobal Hill which includes the watchful presence of a gorgeous 72-foot-tall statue of the Madonna.
Day 3 - Puerto Natales
After breakfast, fly to Punta Arenas or directly to Puerto Natales, located at the edge of Chilean Patagonia. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel just outside of town. Enjoy the balance of the day at leisure, exploring the property and familiarizing yourself with the available amenities on offer.
Day 4 - Puerto Natales
Begin three full days of exploration in spectacular Patagonia, a remote, rugged wilderness backdropped by iconic, jagged snow-capped peaks. Choose from a wide range of private expeditions and activities in Torres del Paine National Park, such as horseback riding, trekking, kayaking, mountain biking and birding — all designed to reveal Patagonia at its most authentic. Mingle with the local residents to learn their customs or visit ranches and businesses where the region’s pioneers worked. You may even sail fjords, admiring landscapes far off the beaten path.
Day 5 - Puerto Natales
Today, continue to explore the magnificent wilderness of Torres del Paine National Park as you choose from private excursions with your local naturalist guide on which you may encounter herds of guanaco roaming free, and gaze out at the flamingos and other birds that populate the region’s lakes, streams and meadows. A UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the park is renowned for its otherworldly landscape of granite spires, ice and deserted pampas. Scan the serrated peaks in search of soaring Andean condors, their ten-foot wingspan outspread. After dinner, you can simply unwind in your room or step outside for impromptu stargazing, marveling at the ink-black Patagonian night sky, dotted with countless pinpoints of starlight.
Day 6 - Puerto Natales
Experience your final full day in Patagonia at leisure, able to choose from a wide range of optional, private excursions with different grades of difficulty and duration. Perhaps explore fjords, mountains, glaciers, Patagonian forests or farms. You may go horseback riding, trekking, kayaking or mountain biking as well, making some fitting, once-in-a-lifetime memories along the way.
Day 7 - Depart Santiago
After a leisurely morning, transfer to either Punta Arenas or Puerto Natales airport and fly to Santiago, where you connect with your homebound flight.
