ITINERARY

Day: 1
Arrive in Santiago, vibrant capital of Chile, and check in to your hotel in the heart of the city. Then set out on a highlights tour of Santiago, including a guided visit to the Pre-Columbian Museum to view its superb collections of statues, pottery and decor, with some pieces dating back 14,000 years. Tonight, celebrate the beginning of your journey with a special welcome dinner at the home of a local chef.

Day: 2
Delve into the glories of Chilean wines at a prestigious local winery where you learn the history of its classic vintages and sample them on site in style. Guided by an expert sommelier, explore various parcels and taste a blend created from these components. This exclusive experience culminates with a tasting of a current vintage elegantly paired with a curated selection of fine cheeses, followed by lunch, in an atmosphere that celebrates the artistry and craftsmanship of winemaking.

Day: 3
Explore Valparaíso, starting with a guided walk along the hills of this storied port city. Visit the Plaza de la Victoria with its lovely Neptune Fountain, the famous Turri Clock, fisherman's wharf, the Naval Academy and "La Sebastiana,” the one-time residence of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. After lunch at a local restaurant, head into the countryside and Casablanca Valley for wine tasting at the vineyard of Casas del Bosque.

Day: 4
Fly to Buenos Aires, Argentina’s vibrant capital with an unbridled energy few cities can match. Sun-bleached boulevards, cutting-edge restaurants and sultry dancehalls set the stage for a festive expression of Argentine identity. It is a city of neighborhoods, each with its own distinct charm, from colorful La Boca to historic San Telmo. Settle into your hotel, where you later join your fellow guests for dinner.

Day: 5
Take in compelling highlights of Buenos Aires, such as the Plaza de Mayo, La Boca and San Telmo, including the Boca Juniors stadium, known locally as “La Bombonera,” one of the world’s most legendary football (soccer) venues, famed for its intensely passionate fans. As you continue, take in the vibrant, colorful graffiti art that adorns neighborhoods throughout the city. Break for lunch on your own and then explore as you like. Tonight, eat dinner at Rojo Tango, followed by a captivating tango show that celebrates Argentina's national dance.

Day: 6
Embark by boat for a relaxing sail from Puerto Madero to Tigre, a port town that serves as the gateway to the Paraná Delta. Eat lunch before visiting Isla El Descanso, a natural oasis with walking trails and gardens set amid picturesque delta landscapes, where you may spot wildlife such as pampas cat. Then quench your thirst with a tasting of the popular Argentine beverage yerba mate. Sample different varieties and learn the history and culture of the drink, which many love and others find an acquired taste, before returning to Buenos Aires.

Day: 7
This morning, board a flight to Iguazu, where you have lunch at the Melia Hotel, inside Iguazu National Park in Argentina. Then, set out to view the magnificent Iguazu Falls, traversing raised walkways and seeing the Devil's Throat with your expert guide. Afterward, cross the border to Brazil on your way to the Hotel Das Cataratas, a Belmond Hotel and the only hotel located inside the Iguassu National Park in Brazil. This tropical rainforest is home to rare birds such as macaws, toucans and parrots, as well as monkeys, caimans, armadillos and even jaguars, so keep your eyes peeled. Check in to your hotel and enjoy a free evening.

Day: 8
Observe the mighty falls from two different vantage points, starting with a walking tour on the Brazilian side, taking in spectacular views and basking in a natural setting filled with orchids, colorful birds and endemic wildlife. Then, embark on a boat tour that takes you up close to the foot of the plummeting cascades for a visceral experience of the rainbow-making mists. Your afternoon is free before dinner at your hotel.

Along the way, hop on and off the Rio VLT electric train, which also carries you to the revitalized port area to view the massive street murals by artist Eduardo Kobra, each a dazzling example of Brazilian graffiti art.
