Enjoy personally guided tours to the mosques and souks in Muscat. Then travel through this diverse country, from driving along its sandy shores where you might take a dip in the Arabian Sea, to enjoying stunning views from atop Jebel Sharms, Oman's highest point. After an off-road journey into the desert, meet Bedouins in their encampment. Enjoy a meal and spend the night in a traditional tented camp. Later, visit Jabrin Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the village of Bahla, known for its pottery.

ITINERARY

Days 1-2
Today, enjoy a morning sightseeing excursion of the enchanting port city of Muscat beginning with the magnificent Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, a unique Islamic landmark.

Day 3
This morning visit Beit Al Falaj, the Sultan's Armed Forces Museum. Then travel to the Wahiba Sands, a pocket of red dunes nestled between the Gulf of Oman and the Jiddat Al Harassis, a protected wildlife area. Travel off-road deep inside the sands to a traditional Bedouin encampment tucked at the foot of a large sand dune. A lavish dinner awaits, where you eat seated on Bedouin carpets. Your home this evening is a traditional tented camp.

Day 4
Visit a traditional Bedouin encampment to meet the locals and enjoy traditional Arabic coffee, the welcome drink of the Middle East. Drive along the beautiful Omani coastline where you may have an opportunity to swim in the Arabian Sea. An en-route stop at Wadi Tiwi finishes the day before returning to your hotel in Muscat.

Day 5
Relax this morning before embarking on a walking tour of Muscat's old town. Stroll through Al Alam palace, the residence of Oman's hereditary ruler, Sultan Qaboos. Continue to the Muttrah souk and the Omani antique stalls.

Day 6
Travel to Jebel Shams, the highest mountain in Oman. The scenery is stunning as you make your way to the village of Al Hamra, a beautiful plantation town situated at the foothills of the mountain.

Day 7
Today's highlights include The Jabrin Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a visit to the village of Bahla, renowned for its pottery and use of indigo dye. Enjoy more shopping on your last day in Oman.
